Rodney Ramos

Rodney has been a professional comic book illustrator for over 25 years . He has worked at Legendary Pictures Comics on Tower Chronicles with Matt Wagner and Simon Bisley.  His inks have graced over 500 issues on titles such as The Amazing Spider-man , X-men, Ironman, Green Lantern ,Batman , Wonder Woman , JSA, JLA , Countdown ,52 and the critically acclaimed Transmetropolitan with Warren Ellis and Darick Robertson.

Stephen B Scott

American professional comic artist Stephen B. Scott has illustrated such titles as; Batman, X-Men Forever, JLA, Batman Confidential, Marvel Adventures Hulk and many more.  Over his eighteen year career, the publishers  have included, DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Image, Dark Horse, IDW, Titan Comics and several independent publishers.

  • Dan Abnett 

    Writer on numerous top selling titles for Marvel, DC and 2000ad, including Guardians of the Galaxy, Sinister Dexter and the new Aquaman Rebirth

 

  • John Bolton

    Legendary painter and comic artist. Has worked for Marvel and DC and is about to release his latest work, which is the follow up to the superb “Shame” book entitled “Hope”

  • Laurence Campbell

    Artist for Marvel and Dark Horse Comics. He has worked on top titles such as The Punisher and B.P.R.D

  • Rufus Dayglo 

    A local hero, Rufus lives right here in Margate and has worked on iconic titles such as 2000ad and Tank Girl

  • Simon Furman

    The definitive Transformers writer, he is also famous for his work on Marvel UK titles like Dragon’s Claws and Death’s Head.

  • Mike Dowling

    Mike is currently drawing Devlin Waugh for 2000AD. He was the artist and co-creator of Unfollow, written by Rob Williams and published by Vertigo. Other work includes Death Sentence, written by Montynero, and Ichabod Azrael, Judge Dredd and Judge Anderson for 2000AD.

  • Kieron Gillen

Acclaimed writer on Marvel’s Darth Vader series, co creator of The Wicked + The Divne and reimagineer of Young Avengers, also for Marvel.

  • Kev Hopgood

    Kev started his comics career in the mid-1980s, working as a penciller on the Marvel UK strip Zoids. Work for various titles followed, including Action Force, Doctor Who and 2000 AD, where he co-created the series Night Zero. He went on to a three year stint as penciller for Iron Man for Marvel in the US.
    During his tenure he co-created the character War Machine, who has spawned numerous spin-offs and made major appearances in the Iron Man movies.

  • Grant Perkins

    Margates’ own Grant Perkins is a comic book artist who has worked for 2000ad, Titan comics Penguins of Madagascar, Doctor Who and many more.

    He wrote and drew Doctor Who’s “Strax and the Time Shark” and is currently working on his hilarious “Dwayne Hickenbottom” mini-series as a comic book sequel to his novels of the same name.

  • Emma Price

    Multidisciplinary graphic designer and illustrator.

    When she’s not working on movie campaigns for Disney and Universal Studios, she designs comics, most notably the critically acclaimed Cry Havoc and Savage Town and the all-ages winged-monkey caper Angelic, all from Image Comics.

  • Simon Spurrier

    Writer on numerous titles for Rebellion, Marvel, DC Comics, Vertigo and Boom Studios and co creator on Angelic published by Image Comics. He is currently;y working on the new Sandman Universe title for Neil Gaiman.

  • Kirsty Swan

    Another local hero, Kirsty is an artist and comics colourist with works published for 2000AD, Dynamite and several independent publishers including Bluewater and Alterna.

  • Emma Vieceli 

    Artist on Manga Shakespeare for SelfMadeHero, Young Avengers for Marvel Comics, Back to the Future for IDW and Comic Book Tattoo for Image Comics to name just a few.


INDY SPOTLGHT GUEST

Robert Wells

Cartoonist and illustrator Robert Wells is the creator of the graphic novel Back, Sack & Crack (& Brain) – an autobiographical comedy about his long history of embarrassing health problems. 

We are proud to be exposing Robert’s work to new audiences at the festival.

This year we are also welcoming some movie actors along to the festival to join the fun and to sign autographs for fans:

  • Chris Bunn

    Chris was the original Stormtrooper in Star Wars: A New Hope and also appeared in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi

    Other franchises he has worked on include Batman with Michael Keaton and Superman with Christopher Reeve.

  • Andrew Lawden

    Andrew is best known for his roles as Stand -in double for Qui gon Jinn ( Liam Neeson ) and Naboo Soldier. ( Royal Guard ) in “Star wars – Phantom Menace Ep1 “. In a career spanning over 20 years , he is also known for “Robin Hood , Prince of Thieves, ” “Third Contact” “Topboy”,  “EastEnders ” , and more recently , the Dr who tribute , “Tale of the Time Lord ” and “Prime Suspect 1973”

  • Paul Warren

    Paul is known for his creature and body double roles in huge box office movies such as Star Wars: The Force Awakens,  Thor: The Dark World and Captian America: The First Avenger

  • Martin Bannatyne

    Martin is known for his supporting roles in hit movies Batman: The Dark Knight, Harry Potter, The Bourne Ultimatum
